My name is Mikaela. Though I have studied different forms of healing including
5 Element accupuncture, deeksha & am a certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher, Thai Yoga Massage is the form in which I enjoy expressing my natural healing abilities. I can't wait to meet & assist you along your unique healing path.
I was born and raised in California.
I am culinarily trained in baking & pasture, being in school inspired me to learn more about HEATHY baking, especially Raw, local and vegan. This direction of living a healthy lifestyle inspired me to dive deeper into yoga and other healing practices. A backpacking trip through the islands of Indonesia when I was 19 brought inspiration towards a life rich in prayer, beauty of nature, pure JOY in everyday life (as reflected in the faces of indigenous people of Java and Bali) & dedication to a consistent spiritual practice.
Reiki, Deeksha, Ayurveda, 5 element acupuncture and Kundalini Yoga came into my life to study & enjoy sacred community as my journey progressed.
After Kundalini Yoga Teacher training, my partner Dakota and I planned a cross country road trip in search of a place to settle down and call home. We were in search of a community rich in local farmers and most of all, some land where we could build a home together!
After 5 months on the road, exploring some of our country's most amazing National Parks and forests, we started looking at land in the Appalachian mountains. We ended our trip when we discovered the perfect property for sale in Floyd VA in September 2015.
We went into contract to buy our property in the summer of 2017, shortly after moving here & getting engaged in big sur CA.
I feel in love with Thai massage after meeting Christina Lofaro and decided to to join her Thai Massage certification course in 2021. Thai massage is a perfect way for me to combine my natural healing abilities with all my previous trainings and life experiences in the area of healing arts & wellness.
After graduating with my certificate, I knew my current life as a server in Floyd at Parkway Grille would eventually end. The transition was difficult to say the least, however, I was offered a part time office job by a dear friend & successful doctor, Janine Talty DO. I began massaging as my own business on the side while learning the ropes of working in the medical feild.
I now use a beautiful room at her office in Roanoke for my own healing practices and continue learning from other Thai Massage Teachers as I grow my practice.
I love staying connected with the Floyd community at the Saturday Farmers Market where I sell my good friend, Adrienn's, amazing sourdough bread and pastries every weekend. Come visit me at Big Indian Farm booth!
Gratitude for this practice is an understatement. It brings me SO much joy to see progress in my consistent clients and hear how this work as changed them in a positive way.
If you have read this much, wow! Thank you for considering booking with me as your massage practitioner and learning how Thai Massage has helped me grow into the healer I've always known myself to be.
